How to Edit Metrics for Precision in Analyse

Learn how to create a new dashboard in Analyse and customise it with specific metrics, filters, and sections to track the most relevant data.

Metrics in Analyse provide visual insights into your data, but sometimes they need to be adjusted for accuracy and relevance. Editing metrics allows you to fine-tune your dashboards, refine comparisons, and focus on the most relevant data points.

How to Edit Metrics in Analyse

Step 1: Open a Dashboard

  • Log in to Analyse at https://analyse.DataEQ.com.
  • Click on Reports in the left-hand navigation menu.
  • Select the dashboard containing the metric you want to edit.

Step 2: Access Metric Editing Options

  • Hover over the metric you want to adjust.
  • Click the Edit icon (three-dot menu) in the top-right corner of the metric.

Step 3: Adjust Metric Settings

  • Modify the following settings to refine your metric:
    • Filters: Adjust date range, sentiment, brand selection, or author engagement.
    • Comparison Options: Compare by brand, region, time period, or sentiment trends.
    • Grouping Method: Change how data is grouped (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
    • Visualisation Type: Switch between bar charts, line graphs, tables, or topic wheels for better analysis.

  • Click Save to apply your changes.

Key Ways to Improve Metric Precision

  • Use more specific filters (e.g., focus on verified sentiment data only).
  • Compare data across time periods for historical insights.
  • Exclude irrelevant data by refining brand, language, or region filters.
  • Choose the right visualisation—some metrics work better as graphs, while others are clearer as tables.

Troubleshooting Metric Editing Issues

  • Issue: “My metric is not updating after editing.”
    • Refresh the page to ensure the changes are applied.
    • Double-check that the filters are not too restrictive.
  • Issue: “My graph looks incorrect after making changes.”
    • Try changing the visualisation type for better clarity.
    • Expand the date range to ensure sufficient data is available.
